Pietra dei lupi Castel Del Monte, Nero di Troia, 2015 – Cantine Carpentiere
Nero di Troia translate the black grape of Troy, which tells you how ancient this grape variety is. Planted some 2,800 years ago likely by a Greek colony. We usually expect from Puglia wines that are overly ripe and high in alcohol, but that is mainly the new type of wines. Traditionally places like Castel del Monte made delicate, refreshing, and floral. Only a few follow this style and Luigi Carpentiere is surely one of the first. Roses, violets, bitter honey and wild strawberries – this is our best selling wine of Puglia.
"Wine without a story is just a fruit juice with alcohol" .... so below you'll find a video of the winemaker.
Don't forgot to turn on English subtitles.
