Silene Cesanese Superiore 2017 – Damiano Ciolli
If Cesanese is becoming famous in Italy and abroad, we owe it to Damiano Ciolli. He has been struggling to rehab a frustrated grape variety, destroyed by the mass production for tourists in Rome. Cesanese can be an incredible grape variety. With hints of red fruits like a pinot noir and tannins of a nebbiolo. The volcanic soil and altitude do the rest. Resistance rewarded (up to 10 years) and to be paired with a spicy salami.
